Deanna

Deanna studied Kinesiology at the University of Ontario Institute of Technology where she graduated in 2016. Currently, Deanna is a 4th year student at the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College and will receive her Doctor of Chiropractic in May of 2021. Deanna has always had a passion for sports and healthcare. She played in the National Ringette League as well as on UOIT’s varsity Lacrosse team. Deanna loves spending quality time with her family and being outdoors.

Physiotherapist 

Shashi Panchal

Shashi is a highly educated, skilled, and compassionate professional from Ontario, Canada who received his Physiotherapy degree at Manchester Metropolitan University in the United Kingdom. Shashi takes pride in looking after his mind, body and health, and shares that passion in helping his patients live their most optimal life.  Although he enjoys all forms of fitness and sport, he specialized in playing over 15 years of baseball and volleyball which culminated in him being scouted to play for a professional baseball team.

Shashi’s background includes helping clients to overcome disorders, challenges, and injuries to achieve their physical health goals. From assessing patient conditions and developing treatment plans to recommending appropriate exercises and assisting patients with pain management, Shashi has consistently resulted in helping patients quickly recover from physical ailments to the greatest extent possible.  He also possesses the ability to quickly connect with patients and establish trusting relationships with his strong communication talents.  Primarily, he supports patients in restoring original function and lessening disabilities associated with orthopedic, neurologic, trauma, medical, surgical, and sport-related injuries from various diagnostic groups. He also possesses experience and a special skillset working with top high-level athletes from various sports to prevent injury and improve performance.

Shashi has a proven commitment to excellence in physical rehabilitation and recovery which is coupled with his dedication to providing insightful guidance and support to optimize his patients’ overall health

Sarah

Sarah is currently on maternity leave and is looking forward to returning to the clinic when her leave ends. Sarah graduated from Wilfrid Laurier University in 2013, and shortly after, relocated to the Durham Region where she began working with Amit. Sarah has always been very people focused and enjoys her role at the Healthcare Professionals because of all the wonderful people she gets to meet. Outside of the clinic, Sarah enjoys travelling, home improvements and spending time with her family and new little one.

Office Manager

Lexi Brewing

Lexi’s journey at the Healthcare Professionals began in fall of 2021, leaving her previous job of 8 years, to start something new, while working to complete her Undergraduate degree and eventually her Master’s Degree. She originally began as a part-time receptionist and was offered the position of office manager while another team member was on maternity leave.  Currently, she has continued to fill the role, following another maternity leave.

Some fun facts include that she is a major dog lover and actually previously worked at a doggy daycare. Her dog’s name is Diamond, because they are a girl’s best friend. Her favourite colour is pink (you’ll figure that out quite quickly).

She always strives to come to work with a smile on her face and a happy attitude, which creates a welcoming and uplifting environment for everyone.

Lexi completed her undergrad in Sociology and Women’s Studies. This shows her passion for understanding social dynamics and promoting gender equality. Additionally, her Master’s degree in Criminology and Social Justice demonstrates her commitment to creating a more equitable and just society. Lexi has a passion for learning and may continue her pursuit of further education.

Amit

Amit is a Certified Athletic Therapist, Registered Massage Therapist, Registered Kinesiologist and Medical Acupuncture Provider. He has had additional training in various soft tissue and myofascial techniques and brings over 20 years experience to the clinical setting.

Amit graduated from York University in 2004 with Specialized Honours in Kinesiology and Health Sciences and with a Certification in Athletic Therapy. He has continued to enhance his skills by taking courses to provide exceptional healthcare for his patients. His additional training in Acupuncture, Kinesio-taping, Graston Technique and Cranio Sacral Therapy help round out his skill set.

Amit’s assessment model and manual therapy approach to treatment, along with his patient-oriented care is second to none. His extensive knowledge and compassion for his patients have not only built him a strong reputation within the community but also amongst his peers. Since 2010 has been employed by Maple Leafs Sport and Entertainment where he provides assessment and treatment for the players of the Toronto Maple Leafs. Prior to that, Amit worked 6 years in the CFL with the Toronto Argonauts Football Club in a similar capacity.

Amit’s experience working with professional athletes have given him the platform to see a wide range of injuries. He enjoys working with all age groups and populations and hopes to give his knowledge and passion for healing back to our community.

Kinesiologist & PTA/OTA

Celina Rambally

Celina’s career begin in 2017 as an Occupational/Physiotherapist Assistant. Her experience in rehabilitation has varied in the fields of fine/gross motor control, neurological, cardiopulmonary, and orthopaedic. Celina has obtained extensive experience in many clinical settings such as retirement/assisted living, long-term care, acute hospital care, in-patient and out-patient rehabilitation.

In 2021 Celina joined The Healthcare Professionals, all while completing her degree from Ontario Tech University.  Graduating in 2022 with a Bachelor of Health Science in Kinesiology, Celina is currently the clinic’s Registered Kinesiologist! She has also worked alongside a wide array of athletes as a Strength & Conditioning Coach at Elite Training Systems (ETS) and has additional experience in myofascial cupping and shockwave therapy.

Celina is actively advancing her professional journey in education by pursuing her Massage Therapy Diploma at triOS College in Toronto.

Massage Therapist

Gabriella Lamana

Gabriella graduated with a Bachelor of Health Science in Public Health in 2019 from Ontario Tech University. During her time at Ontario Tech, Gabi was also a member of the Varsity Women’s Hockey Team. She worked as a Sleep Technologist until 2021 when she decided to pursue a career in massage therapy and obtained her Diploma from Sir Sandford Fleming College in 2023. Now a registered member of The College of Massage Therapists of Ontario, Gabi enjoys working with the active population as well as patients of all ages and conditions.

Gabi has a particular interest in the areas of head and neck pain and has completed additional courses in areas such as post-concussion, headaches, migraines, temporomandibular joint (TMJ) dysfunction, and cupping therapy. She is knowledgeable in musculoskeletal injuries and pain, as well their relationship with sleep. She plans to pursue additional training with a focus on women’s health.

In her spare time, Gabi enjoys an active lifestyle; she loves to travel, play hockey and soccer, and spend quality time at the cottage with her dog, friends and family.

Physiotherapist

Jacob Woldegabriel

Jacob earned his Master’s degree in Physical Therapy from the University of Toronto in 2018. He is Registered with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario. His treatment approach focuses on hands-on manual therapy, muscle tissue release, targeted exercise prescription, and patient education. He also practices acupuncture, fascial stretch, and cupping.

Jacob has experience working with a wide range of patients, for many types of injuries . He has also worked with amateur and semi-professional athletes (pitchers, quarterbacks, academy + NCAA soccer, AAU basketball, gamers/eSports athletes). Jacob is looking forward to serving the community as a member of the Healthcare Professionals.

Office Admin

Stefanie Dekoning

Stefanie joined the clinic during fall of 2024 as a part-time office administrator. After studying Community Services and Child Studies Foundations at Durham College, Stefanie found fulfillment working as a children’s caregiver before moving on to start a career in customer care.

She’s earned invaluable experience, working her way up in several different roles, and is excited to bring her passions for customer service and office organization to the Healthcare Professionals. Outside of work, Stefanie has a passion for animals, working as a pet sitter for both dogs and cats She also enjoys filling her time with travel, home design, and attending as many live shows and local events as she can. She is looking forward to greeting you all with a smile during your next visit!
