Massage Therapy is the assessment and manipulation of soft tissue and joints. It is often used for the prevention of physical dysfunction and to relieve pain in both acute and chronic conditions and to restore normal soft tissue function and joint mobility. Massage Therapists work with a wide range of patients in the treatment of soft tissue and joints and injury rehabilitation.
In Ontario, massage therapy should only be provided by Registered Massage Therapists (RMT) who are in good standing with the college of Massage Therapists of Ontario. RMTs work with a wide range of patients in the treatment of joints and soft tissue and injury rehabilitation including:
- Musculoskeletal Injuries (sprains and strains)
- Work related and sports Injuries
- Chronic and acute pain
- Stress relief
- General muscle tension
- Performance Recovery
- Pregnancy related pain
- Chronic headaches and migraines
